LaCantina is accepting submissions for the fifth annual architect design competition now through Oct. 18.

San Diego, CA – (August 15, 2022) – LaCantina Doors is teaming up with Architizer in a nationwide search for world-class architects to showcase their best contemporary design work in the 2022 Best of LaCantina Contest. The competition aims to celebrate the distinctive ways that designers use LaCantina’s innovative folding, sliding and swing doors in their projects – with the Best in Show winner being awarded a grade prize trip for two to the 2023 AIA Conference on Architecture.

“The world has adopted an indoor outdoor lifestyle and the design solutions created by the architects and designers using LaCantina products keeps getting more innovative,” said Tim Kelting, General Manager of LaCantina. “We’re excited to see what the competition will look like this year and to provide a platform that recognizes their inspired projects.”

The Best of LaCantina 2022 contest finalists will be chosen for the following categories: Best in Show, Best Commercial, Best Rural Residential, Best Urban Residential, Best Suburban Residential, Best Compact, Best Renovation and Most Innovative. The competition is open to residential and commercial architects, interior designers, home builders and developers.

“Taking home LaCantina’s Best in Show Award in 2020 with Bienville House was truly an honor. Being recognized for your passion to transform homes and provide homes with an elevated and comfortable living space – there is truly no better feeling,” said Nathan Fell of Nathan Fell Architecture. “LaCantina's high-quality and aesthetically versatile products allow us to elegantly blur the division between indoor and outdoor living, completely transforming and creating large, open living and entertaining spaces.”

Guest judges in selecting the competition's 2022 winners include Raili Clasen of RailiCA Interior Design, Brendan and Jillian Bader of Modern Nest Homes, LaCantina General Manager Tim Kelting, Paul Keskeys of Architizer, and Best of LaCantina 2020 winner Nathan Fell of Nathan Fell Architecture.

Entries may be submitted here now through October 18, 2022. The winning design will be named “Best in Show,” as well as featured on LaCantinaDoors.com and Architizer.com. All contest winners will be announced on Nov. 29, 2022.
