Foust Residence by CB Designs
Newport Beach, California

A remodel of a Newport Beach home for racecar driver and TV host, Tanner Foust. LaCantina’s perfectly matching door and window systems can be found throughout the entire waterfront residence and were the perfect solution for creating an indoor-outdoor living ambiance. The renovations and additions leave the house filled with natural light during the day and a seamless transition to the outdoor terraces for entertaining.

Christine Beavis, of CB Designs, was recognized as the overall winner of The Best of LaCantina | Call for Entries 2017 for her innovative use of multiple LaCantina products and flawless design skills.

Augusta is a graceful residence situated in the picturesque setting of Cordillera Ranch in Boerne, Texas. The modern abode’s defining feature is two 16-foot-wide multi sliding door systems in black anodized aluminum, framed by a structural timber frame.

San Francisco Residence by Infill Studio

This ingenious “down-to-the studs” renovation that is the San Francisco Residence, is a 19th century Stick Style Victorian house in Noe Valley. LaCantina’s folding systems’ narrow stiles and custom colors achieve a contemporary aesthetic that sits in harmony with the building’s historic architectural features.

Space Pod emerged victorious in this category for its use of LaCantina’s pocketing multi slide system. The sliding doors surrounding the living space can be pushed completely into the walls, offering seamless boundary that fits perfectly with this modern workshop’s minimal aesthetic.

Stein Erickson Lodge by Think Architecture
Park City, Utah

Situated in the dramatic landscape of Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, Stein Erikson Lodge by Think Architecture won Best Commercial for its use of LaCantina bifolding doors. The durability of the doors made them a perfect choice and clever detailing allows them to span over the luxury facility’s indoor-outdoor pool, bridging the connection between the lodge and its mountainous surroundings.

MOST INNOVATIVE

Bloomfield Garage by Levy Design Partners

Bloomfield Garage in Northern California combines LaCantina aluminum folding doors with an innovative combination of materials including a prefabricated Quonset hut roof. The doors open to reveal a modern garage and art studio, each perfectly framed beneath the distinctive curved profile of the roof.

The overall winner of the competition and guest will travel to New York City for Archtober for NYC’s annual Architecture and Design Month. LaCantina will provide roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations for a three-day two-night trip. The overall winner and honorable mentions will be featured on Architizer.com and shared with Architizer’s 2,000,000+ social media fans.
