Hacienda Alsacia, situated at the base of Costa Rica’s Poás Volcano, is Starbucks' new 46,000 sq. ft. visitor center on their 600-acre coffee farm. In early March 2018, the coffee company opened their LaCantina Folding Doors to the world and invited coffee lovers to see and experience their favorite vice in its entire journey from soil to cup.

Starbucks installed six LaCantina Aluminum Folding Door Systems to open the visitor center to views of luscious coffee fields, rolling green hills, a breathtaking waterfall, and endless blue skies. Three systems, including a Zero Post Corner Application, fit side by side to create an enormous opening over 84 ft. wide. A Bronze Anodized finish was selected to match perfectly with the industrial structure.

“With the buildings’ open layouts and sliding walls, it can be hard to tell whether you are indoors or outside,” states David Daniels, Vice President of store design at Starbucks. Daniels mentions that the lines were intentionally blurred to achieve an organic feel.
