Originally built in 1926, this home, inspired by a historic house in Scotland, was uniquely designed with deep set windows and pocketed stucco – which stand out against the Shaker-style homes that surround it. With the home’s breathtaking views of the hills looking towards the west, Rossington Architecture reimagined the outdoor living space using LaCantina doors to create a cohesive, functional indoor outdoor living experience for the homeowners.

To maximize the view and outdoor space, Rossington Architecture utilized a LaCantina Zero Post Folding Door System to seamlessly merge the kitchen area into the newly renovated outdoor deck. Guests are naturally drawn to the firepit as a focal point, enticing them to gather and take in the scenery.

Opening to a stunning view, LaCantina Contemporary Clad Folding Doors allow the homeowners to enjoy the outdoors, gather by the fireplace, and take in the unobstructive views from every spot in the kitchen. Even on days with less than desirable weather, homeowners can look out towards the rolling hills through the large glass panels.

To truly make the view the focal point from every room, Dolores Street features numerous windows looking towards the west, a back deck, and a raised patio. This residence beautifully brings nature within reach with a well-landscaped garden. Rossington Architecture stunningly combined water, earth, and fire features in a welcoming way that’s easy to enjoy and adds endless appeal to the urban design of the home.

The homeowners wanted to add a small addition to the rear of the home to create stronger ties between interior and exterior spaces. They also wanted a true indoor outdoor living experience. By installing LaCantina Zero Post Folding Patio Doors, architects were able to deliver a design with a wrapped deck off the kitchen, creating a unique solution for this 1926 home.
