The co-host of HGTV's Kitchen Cousins, John Colaneri and his wife custom built this brand-new modern rustic New Jersey home from the ground up. The timbered appearance is thanks to an abundance of reclaimed wood sourced from a 200 year old Ohio barn. This sleek yet earthy home includes touches of ipe, corrugated metal and stone veneer on the outside for a warm and industrial looking contemporary barn Colaneri always envisioned living in.

With an open space floor plan in mind, the kitchen anchors one end of the 4,000 square-foot home that sits on 2.15 acres in Ramsey, New Jersey. Inspired by contemporary styling and new designs, the Colaneri’s were looking for a solution to maximize space, open up their home to their expansive backyard, and add natural light while being energy efficient. LaCantina Doors met all their aesthetic and performance demands with two four panel Aluminum Thermally Controlled Folding Systems and two single Aluminum Thermally Controlled Swing Doors.

Using the same signature profile across the folding and swing door systems allowed for a perfectly matching door package when placed side-by-side, leaving no architectural detail too small to conquer. Custom built by the Colaneri’s and Carrino’s Jersey City-based family construction business, Brunelleschi Construction, this modern rustic inspired  contemporary barn home is functional yet attractive.
