Architectural Products Recognizes LaCantina Doors in Annual Survey Honoring the Most Innovative Product Launches for the Second Consecutive Year

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 15, 2015) —LaCantina Doors’ (LaCantina) new Contemporary Clad was named a 2015 Product Innovation Award (PIA) winner in the Windows/Doors/Openings category by Architectural Products, the leading business magazine focused on products, materials and  applications for the architectural market involved in commercial and institutional building design.

The PIA awards identify and honor innovation in the development and refinement of commercial buildings-related products that run the gamut from cladding systems to interior finishes. This marks the second consecutive year that LaCantina has been awarded with a prestigious PIA.

“Building on the success of last year’s program, our fifth edition of the awards proves commercial building manufacturers are committed to, and are working arduously toward, delivering more sustainable products, as well as products that deliver better performance, life and affordability,” noted Jim Crockett, Editorial Director, Architectural Products Magazine.

Products were judged by a panel of 35 independent judges, a diverse and impartial body that included architects, interior designers, lighting designers
and veteran A/E/C writers—based on their expertise and interest.

LaCantina’ new Contemporary Clad features square and sculpted profile designs, standard anodized and painted finishes, combined with the warmth of a wood interior to complement any architectural style and window package.  Perfectly proportioned, the Contemporary Clad is the company’s most energy efficient system, complying with new stringent energy codes and is available across their folding, multi-slide and swing systems for a perfect match.

Lee Maughan, President, LaCantina Doors commented, “We really hit the mark on the Contemporary Clad by way of aesthetic and adding features for intuitive system operation and improved thermal performance. The Contemporary Clad range has no limitations. It can be used in both traditional clad and contemporary aluminum window packages.”

The complete list of 2015 Product Innovation Award winners will be featured in the November Issue of Architectural Products.
