Summer is here and if you haven’t planned an international getaway yet then you’ll want to check out our list of global resorts that will take your relaxing vacation to the next level.

Between June 4th to September 9th is the best time of the year to visit the luxurious ski town, Gstaad, located in southwestern Switzerland. Alpina Gstaad is a 6-story, 56 room resort and most of it was built using natural materials. One very cool feature is the enormous tree root that sits as a reception desk in the lobby.

Location: Macau, China
Architect: Gulla Jónsdóttir Architecture + Design
The Macau Roosevelt pays homage to it’s sister property The Hollywood Roosevelt. Without a doubt, there is no shortage of Hollywood glamour found throughout this 368-room hotel located along the south coast of China. Many elements of nature were included in the design including natural imagery, live plants and upside-down garden.

Nothing says luxury more than a 12-acre secluded island which is exactly where Villas de Finolhu resides. This 5-star resort is known for being “radically sustainable”. All 52 guest villas are situated along the water, so you won’t have to worry about anyone blocking your oceanfront view.

Location: Phuket, Thailand
Architect: Paola Navone
Need time to heal? Yamu Resort features a Shambala Wellness Retreat to enhance your physical wellbeing and spiritual balance. This resort is also home to two world-class restaurants so not only will your mind be content, but your belly will be happy too.
Regardless of which international resort you choose to vacation at this summer, the one thing they all embrace is an open space concept. If you’re more inclined to stay home this summer, then you can achieve the same indoor-outdoor ambiance by installing one of LaCantina’s large operable door systems. So, whether you’re enjoying the mountain breeze in Switzerland or practicing mindfulness in Thailand or enjoying some peace and quiet from your own living room, open those doors wide, close your eyes, and relax.
