Christopher Kennedy Compound

Each year Modernism Week celebrates mid-century architecture, design, art, fashion and culture in a festival of pre-fab showcases, films, tours, lectures, live music and more. This year’s Luxe Magazine’s Modernism Week Show House remodel is the Christopher Kennedy Compound, a legacy of Palm Springs' mid-century modern architecture and statement of American style.

Kennedy Compound

Christopher Kennedy, one of the nation’s leading tastemakers and interior designers, spearheaded this year’s showcase. His name and products are quickly becoming synonymous with modern luxury. Christopher handpicked a team of some the most respected celebrity designers to bring a unique yet modern style to update this quintessential glamorous estate while respecting the original vision from iconic architect Stan Sackley, who built this home back in 1971.

Among these notable designers, Christopher Kennedy himself has selected LaCantina Doors to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. As a California native Christopher recognizes California living is centered around its’ appeal for a beautiful outdoor room experience.

Aluminum Thermally Controlled System

The dining room, den, master bedroom, guest bedroom, and the casita will all feature our Aluminum Thermally Controlled folding door systems to embody Christopher’s vision of moveable walls of glass. Our Aluminum Thermally Controlled system offers improved thermal performance while maintaining a sleek modern design to complement the renovation’s mid-century modern design.

Luxe Magazine’s Modernism Week Show House: The Christopher Kennedy Compound will be open to the public for the first time for Home Tours, February 15-23. All proceeds will go towards supporting Modernism Week and other architectural preservation efforts.
